Hello,
Having a very sad and weird experience with a male coworker. He told me several weeks ago that people don't have a problem with me, but they don't want me talking too much in meetings because it makes them look bad (He is not in my 'team' - in another one, but feels he has to say something out of 'friendly concern') He said that they are in their 30s and 40s (which narrows it down to the rest of the team). He said in his own words to 'forgive them' because you work hard and make them look bad and they don't like it (His words not mine).Having spoken privately with my boss and colleagues about it, nobody has come forward with any work issues or problems and expressed surprise as we have very long work meetings every week where everyone gets a chance to put their points across. Having spoken to a couple of mature ladies at work one said 'he's been caught out doing it before' and the other one said that he wanted to get in the team I currently work in (I am leaving in a few months so won't be around anymore). Him and a colleague in my team always pick each other to work (and are bosom buddies) who always get paired off together in twos to work together on the weekend. My other colleagued lied about 'swopping' weekend shifts with me and said that they are both needing to catch up with meetings with old colleagues (but the two-faced one was just coming back from a holiday overseas so just wanted a catch-up with my colleague). A colleague said he was texted for another reason to swop on the weekend. Then tonight the problem coworker has deleted me off social media (I still work with him). I realise that your colleagues (are rarely) your friends, but what the hell did i do to deserve this? I feel sad that he's proven to be a fake friend who always used to chat and walk up with me after work.

I know it’s probably not but hopefully hopefully he deleted you by mistake. Sorry to hear about the guy stirring- that’s terrible. Are you changing companies or just sections?

I am changing companies. There are a lot of nice, polite and professional people at work, but none I would say is a personal friend. I think he thought I couldn't 'join the dots' when people had been filling me in on the background story. What's the expression 'keep your enemies closer?'

good you’re getting out at least! Terrible he did it but good that people know he has form and also good you know they don’t have an issue with you
