Is anyone a freelance writer? Any tips on getting started?

Hi everyone,

I currently work in B2B journalism/reporting, and before that, I worked as a B2B copywriter. I’ve decided that I want to build my own small business, but currently don’t have enough time because my current job is long(ish) hours if you factor in the commuting time as well. I want to start doing freelancing to give me more flexibility and hopefully more time to work on my own business. For those who freelance in content marketing/reporting/copywriting/reporting, how did you get started? Did you just apply to various freelance roles?

Be mindful that the development of ChatGPT and other AI will impact your business. A lot of long time writers have been fired . I wouldn't quit my job. Can't you WFH?

@Maraschina The business I want to set up isn’t writing-related, so large language models won’t have much effect on that. (I write predominantly about AI in my current reporting role). But it is a fair point with regards to freelancing.
