I'm 37. I have a degree and PhD in biochemistry. But i really don't want to go back to acedemia and don't have the confidence to go into industry as i have a narrow experience range really.

I have considered teaching in the long term but this is on the back burner until DD goes to school, next september.

I would like to/need to get some part time work - I dont want to do something low paid and non challenging but i really really DO NOT HAVE A CLUE. I live in the south east and do not want to commute to london.

I'm making it quite hard really - any ideas? Are there jobs that would accept non experienced, highly qualified ex SAHM willing to learn

What do you enjoy? When you go to a shop, library, bank, do you think you'd enjoy doing that job? Would you hate talking to customers? Do you have a passion for anything?

Browse your council website as they have a wide range of jobs and vacancies.

Have you had a look at the NHS job website, there may be part time jobs suitable for your qualifications.

also if there's any schools/colleges/universities near you, they often have part time jobs.
