Job offer no contact since

Offered job week ago- said HR would be in touch to arrange all relevant checks etc.
I've emailled and had no response

Thankfully not handed notice in as no written offer.

Now considering if this is how disorganised they are if actually this is the right move and if this reflects organisation as a whole.

A shame as it's a dream role

opinions please? Thanks

It's been half term and a BH, I'd give them another chance- probably send a follow up on Monday. If still after that it's tricky id go with your gut instinct

soupmaker · 01/06/2023 14:36

It's only a week! Were they posting to you or are you expecting an email?

I'd not be handing notice in until I had a contract in hand to sign and checks all cleared.

Goldrushed · 01/06/2023 14:37

A week is nothing! They do tend to go quiet whilst they're doing checks unless they need info from you.

Starlightstarbright1 · 01/06/2023 14:38

I had this but waiting 2 months - I declined at that point .

Where I work this would be quite normal, once you've made a verbal offer, there are many forms/approvals etc before HR can issue a formal offer. If our HR person or an approver is away, it takes longer. I'd chase in a few days and remind them you won't be handing notice in until you get formal offer

coffeeruleslife · 01/06/2023 15:13

Thanks all I will give it another week. If no contact then it's probably a no from me

Offered remote job at 17:31 today after a tough week job searching for a July start but emails came through as expected/mentioned that need completing ASAP within a couple hours. (the employer least expected to call, calls I was ready to accept a temp job but they didn’t call!) Can you check your spam etc?

FredaFox · 03/06/2023 00:12

I think a week to get a contract out by post is pushing it however where I work also send an email with details at the same time so maybe ask for an e version so you can resign?
When we have a short turnaround of offer to start date we ask hr to email a short contract out while they process the main one

Hi, I'm wondering what the outcome was for the Op?
I'm in a similar position myself. Offered a position 8 days ago and no contact since. Although haven't sent an email get. I told my current boss as thought it was the right thing to do . Thankfully haven't given in notice yet.
