I am about to apply for an internal role that I really want! I have a lot of transferable skills and tick many of the requirements but I have never worked in this type of role before so I want my cover letter to really give me the right platform.

Any suggestions for a great cover letter to accompany my CV?

Work through all the skills, experience and knowledge described as essential or desirable in the ad and describe how you meet each requirement.

I’ve set out a cover letter recently with an opening intro and then about four/ five bullet point sentences to explain the transferable skills that I think make me a great fit. Use the job spec and ensure you highlight any relevant skills/experience you have that is listed as an “essential” or “desirable” on the spec.
