Would you apply for a part time job say 20 ish hours and be prepared to travel around 15 miles each way?

Yes I do more or less this commute 4 days a week. It doesn't feel far at all tbh. It's about half and half country roads and dual carriageway. Takes 20-25 mins.

I work around a 20 - 30 hour week. Some days I do a 400 mile round trip, other days I do a 60 mile round trip and other days I just sit right where I am now.

It all depends on how you feel about driving - you say you have only just passed your test but I used to love driving after I had mine.

I do agree with what another poster has said about the split of hours though - if it's 20 hours over 3 days it might be worth it in terms of fuel/depreciation etc, but if it is over 5 days I would say not.

If it works out favourably, can you suck it and see?

hmm

I do like driving but am still very nervous so don't want to get out of my depth so to speak.

Sometimes it works out well to go in at the deep end but perhaps you should do a dry run and see how you feel afterwards.

I have outed myself as an insanely - err - 'nippy' driver. clearly I mean to say at least 30 mins for that journey
