Wwyd - job offer

I’ve been offered a job (Job A) with an organisation due to start in 6 weeks. The offer letter to sign has come in today. The job isn’t my dream job but bills need paid etc. Not much room for career progression. Salary ok but not amazing.

Trouble is I was going through a recruitment agency for another job. Didn’t get it but they’ve come back about another one from the same organisation that would be a better fit, good progression and pay (Job B). I’m awaiting an update if they want to interview me for the position.

I also have one other application in with a job that would be in dream job category both in terms of money and career growth (Job C).

But neither of the latter two jobs could come to anything.

Do I sign the offer letter (it’s not the contract just the offer letter) - and if I do can I back out if either of the other two jobs come through? I’d feel bad for Job A organisation and them having to re-recruit (they’d already advertised it previously before I applied in the 2nd round of advertising which is giving me red flags).

Im worried about starting Job A and not really gelling with it and be back where I started in 6 months.

You can back out (with notice if you have started) at any time. You aren't obliged to stay in a job if something better comes along, even if it's only 2 days in. If they want rid of you, they won't give it a second thought. Why would you?

Take the job offer and back out if you get something else. It's a bit awkward yes but honestly don't limit yourself for that

What @Quveas said. Do what makes you happy! If I’m this moment that’s accepting the job that will pay the bills do that, and if something better materialises do that :)
