Hi , I work as a T.A in an infant school . I’ve been there 5 years but , for reasons too long to go into here , I want to resign . What would happen if I resigned in the summer term ?

Not really quite sure what you are asking....... you would resign, work your notice period, and leave......

It's not like teachers who have to hand in notice and then work another half term. You just have to work your notice period, whatever that is.

You can say in your resignation letter that you resign as of 31st August and be paid for the Summer

If you like the school I would let them know you won't be returning in September and send your resignation 31st July with your last day 31st August. If you don't like them say nothing and just send your resignation as above. If you want to leave before the end of the summer term just give the notice period specified in your contract.
