Any recruiters out there know the answer to this?

Have I fucked up my chance at a new job, does anyone know?

I had to give them details of my last 3 jobs, and only knew the month and year of start date so put that (as in 01/01/2022)

I've now had an email from the screening company questioning the exact dates (eg 08/01/22), I replied apologising but no reply yet.

Or anyone else I guess, not just recruiters,

I wouldn't give a tiny poop. Because there's clearly no attempt to deceive or anything.

But some jobs are very detail oriented and might.

It would depend if you're going through formal security clearance I suppose. I needed to provide proof of start/end dates for my most recent job.

Clarifications are part of the standard process with screening companies IME. I wouldn't stress.

I had my current employer return a reference request for future employer with 'employee not found' 😂
It had gone to the wrong team!! I panicked a bit but the onboarding team reassured me that such bloopers are quite typical and they've had worse.

Don't worry, keep providing correct info whenever you can.

I think this may be part of it, yes.

I'm terrible with numbers and days and just didn't know how to find them, I hoped if I put the right month then the teams could confirm the exact days. I could have called the HR teams I suppose looking back.

I am somewhat panicking about this TBH.

I do think some places encourage you to do 01/month if you aren’t sure, I have had a load of jobs and never had a job withdrawn on the referencing point, I think you’ll be ok.

I’ve recently had reference checks for past 3 years of employment and character referencing and amazingly been told I passed screening though I admit it wasn’t done by an outside company. I can’t believe it when I’ve worked for some truly dodgy places in the past, one even got done by the FCA themselves. I thought someone must be having a joke but no proceed to start on agreed date.

Very much hope same for you. Try not to fret.

Thank you @Hatemylife2023 (and everyone!) I appreciate it and am hoping it'll be okay,

I've emailed with another follow up apology and asked if I can do anything to help remedy it at all. Now all I can do is wait and hope I guess!
