Career Advice

Hello Ladies, I’m looking for some advice please šŸ™šŸ¼ it has been a tough year. I lost a baby at 25 weeks in January šŸ˜ž I was preparing myself for full time Mum life with 2 under 3. This has changed and so I have been job hunting. It has been hard: it is tough out there I have found. I now have 2 job offers and would like advice on which to take in your respective point of views:

  1. Global Wellness Lead for a London based business. £60k plus great benefits and 2 days in office Canary Wharf, 3 days at home. Lots of career progression, CPD, work from home, London experience days / however 25 days annual leave so a question mark around school holiday care and the days in London will be long so I souri need extra childcare for after nursery for my 2.5 year old. Also the work load will be high.
  2. Trainee Teacher locally to me at an independent school. £30k plus they cover the PGCE cost, 50% fees, guarantee of pay increase to £41k on qualifying and genuine opportunities to take on more responsibility for increase in pay. School holidays align obviously. Draw back to teaching as I see it is: pay will be limited to a point, must be at school 5 0800-1630 5 days a week, no work from home options, same place, same routine however very family friendly.

any advice? I am married with a husband who is the bread winner and is away sometimes during the week. I am another person on here who has a truly awful family / Mum& Dad so no family support sadly.

thank you so much ā¤ļø

What’s your gut feeling? Which job would you do if you didn’t have to consider anything like pay/hours/childcare?

Teaching workload will be high too.

Which of those roles would you find more meaningful / fulfilling?
