I have had enough! They don't know it yet but I will be handing in my notice.
Even more, I will be retiring!

I'm hoping to very soon! I just need everything to go through for my new job first 🙂. I think my colleagues will be surprised at first.

@LuckOfTheDrawer congratulations! How do you feel?
I feel positive.

I went for a career break instead. I am on a second day of it. Panicking a bit what to do job wise...

I need my bitch boss to fuck off but i keep in mind (when she's being a bitch) that my DD is Year10 in Sept and I plan to move either at the end of Year 11 or end Y13.
If I stay in this job (and pray new position comes up that I get it) I have minimum 2 years or max 4 years until I go and live by the sea

You probably have transferrable skills.

Yes, I am planning my exit from the job and sector I am in. I have a long notice though (3 months).

I have updated my CV and I am doing a couple of online courses to improve my knowledge and skills so I can have more options then I will start my job hunt.

In the meantime I have ''quiet-quitted'' and only do the bare minimum required.

I can't fully retire yet but I work part-time only and will continue to stick to that pattern.

Life really is too short to put up with office politics, ridiculous workload and deadlines and pointless meetings and I am simply too old to put up with this.

I did this in October. Handed in my notice while I was still on probation. Left 1 week later.
I went through the full stages of self doubt, panic, dispair… applied for hundreds of jobs.
did some temping which I thoroughly enjoyed. Finally landed my current job, and I’ve been there 10 weeks and I can honestly say it’s the best career move I ever made. I love it.

stick to your guns and follow your heart. Don’t settle. You are worth more ❤️

8 months into a job I'm good at and enjoy but I don't like how the organisation is run even though the people are lovely. I've updated my CV and advised contacts I wish to move on. I hope to be offered a new job in the next few months and be in and out by the 12 month mark.

peachespeachespeaches · 13/05/2023 00:45

I accepted a job offer today. Not looking forward to the handing in notice rigmarole at all.

Thank you! Yes, I'm feeling really positive as well. I've worked in the same place for years, and I just feel ready for a big change.

LuckOfTheDrawer · 13/05/2023 09:35

@Calling, congratulations on your retirement as well 🎉 - have you made any plans yet?

Calling · 16/05/2023 12:54

@LuckOfTheDrawer many thanks, no plans in place, very early days...
