Interview questions - corporate

Hi all

There's a job recently opened up in the team I work in, to go from an associate to a senior associate. This promotion would mean becoming a manager of a small team (5-6 associates). I've managed a smaller team in a previous job but that was a small company, this is a global business with policies and structure in place.

Do you have any interview tips?
Or questions that might be good to prepare for? I'm doing my own prep but I think this will be unlike any interview I've had before so outside advice is appreciated.

Hey!

I recruit in a global company for my own team but follow the corp interview questions.

For managers, a lot of the questions are based on the leadership principles and aligning with the "mission, vision and values".

I would have a look to see what higher level policies are in place and brush up on corporate values.

Good luck :)

Should also add that I do look more at personalities and their willingness to grow, proactiveness etc, and put more weight to that than how capable they are of reciting corporate values back to me if that makes sense.

But the interview questions themselves are structured around group values and mission.

Thank you, I'll bear this in mind!

I'm fortunate in the sense that personality wise the interviewer will know me. It's our team leader plus a random manager from another team.

I'm sure you'll be fine :)

Have a think and prepare some responses (STAR response structure) to the usual suspects, e.g, how you would deal with conflict in the team, a situation where you've experienced difficulty and how it was resolved etc.

What skills do you have that will enable you to do the role effectively
what would you hope to have achieved in x time

Just bumping this for any further advice as I've had confirmation of an interview. (Yay!!)

As well as all the good advice above......
What will you bring to the role - what do you uniquely have to offer ?
What would you plan to achieve in the first 90 days / 6 mths /1 year if offered the role ?
Why did you choose this role / firm and not XX other role / firm ? What made your decision clear to you ?
