My DS will be taking his exams next Spring. We are in Scotland so standard grades.
I would like to ask for parental leave from work. I’ve not done this before. I understand that I can take a week at a time but can’t take 2 or 3 days. I appreciate this is a year away but I want to be prepared as soon as the exam dates are released which I think will be September time. My work are quite old fashioned. I honestly think my boss believes a woman’s place is in the home. If I wasn’t so well paid, I’d likely leave! I want to therefore give as much notice as possible. So 6-7 months.
Do I need to give a reason or just tell them the dates? We live rurally and lifts will be needed, hence the time off to drive and just be a home support during study leave.
