What do I wear?

I am going back to work in a corporate environment (Asset Management) after a 10 year break. I used to wear a suit every day and this was expected. I am aware things have changed since then, and I have also gained weight moving from a size 14/16 to about an 18/20 now.

I am a Senior Manager in my 40s, who is client facing, please can I have some suggestions as to what to buy? So far I have bought navy, black and grey trousers, a few tops/shirts and a black handbag. I definitely need a jacket and some new shoes.

Would love your ideas, ideally with example pics or links to specific items, please. Willing to spend several hundred pounds to get the right items as this will be an investment in my career.

Are wedge court shoes appropriate? Do blazers need to do up these days, all the photos I see online on clothing store websites show them undone and not meeting in the middle...

I work in asst management and wear black trousers and a smart top mostly. I don’t think many colleagues wear blazers. I wear smart boots or flat Clark style shoes as I don’t do heels. I would take a few days of just checking out the general style around you before spending a lot of money. Workplaces are a bit less formal over last few years.
