I just did, decided what I wanted and went for it.
Trained as a nurse and did that for 5 years, did a couple of years as an airline stewardess, then had DS and worked in an office doing medical insurance, two different places and when DS left home trained to be a podiatrist.
I was a single mum so had to pay for my degrees by working in the holidays and doing extra nights to pay the mortgage.
I shared child care with other working single parents, it was the only way we survived financially.
