Returning to work after maternity

Hi all,

I have just returned to work after maternity leave after 9 months off and I honestly hate it. Firstly they forgot I was coming back so I'm just doing very boring task and they promised a payrise which they forgot about.

The worst thing though is I mentioned I wanted to move next year so my LO can have a bigger bedroom and go to a better school, I'm also doing one day from home and if childcare fails I'm allowed to stay home with the baby. I mentioned I would ask if I can permanently wfh and this one girl who is an assistant in front of everyone said to me I didn't have as much experience as some of the older woman (I'm in my 30s and there are in their 40s)

I work in a law firm, I studied both law and business for about 4 years, been assistant for 5 years and a paralegal for a year before I got pregnant with my LO run my own cases for about 2 years.

It was a massive slap in the face because I worked so hard! I took care of my nan when she was dying so I chose not to progress to the LPC as I was caring for her and that was a struggle and I also have dyslexia. This girl isn't even qualified in law or anything.

I feel so humiliated I honestly don't want to go back!

You need to stop talking about your work intentions with this person. Stick to small talk with her.

Who gives a fuck what one person thinks? Honestly.
