Think I'm about to be sacked, help?

So I'm in a bit of a negative tail spin at the moment, everything just seems to be going wrong, got notice this week our landlord is selling so we need a new house, my car broke down and needs a new part costing £1000, and to top it off I think I'm going to get sacked.

I only started in this job a month ago after being made redundant from a job I'd been in almost 10 years. It was in a similar sector but totally different, I thought some of my skills may have been transferable but it seems not, I had to be retrained and am still retraining, I'll be honest it is a bit difficult, it's all totally new to me, new way of doing everything.

Anyway we were working on a project got it done only for the complaints to begin. There are 3 of us in a team, the boss came over to me yesterday singled me out and asked about this job in a totally patronising way, it seems how we did it was totally wrong, me I was just following instructions but I didn't sink anyone but it seems I'm going to made the fall guy. There is to be a meeting Monday morning, it's 5am Saturday morning and I'm crapping myself.

I'd like to say I enjoyed working here but it's a very odd unfriendly company, no one talks about anything other than work, people take lunch in their cars to avoid chit chat in canteen

So I'm unsure what to do, I've never been sacked before but I have seen 2 people get sacked in this company in the 1 month I've been here. It's the last thing I need at the moment with trying to find somewhere to live, we simply can not afford rent on 1 wage and the car we can't afford to get fixed

Wow enough red flags to decorate a carnival! I hope it all works out :(

I was made redundant too and the job market here is absolutely awful. There can be days between new job vacancies listed on Indeed and LinkedIn. It's horrible.

Sending you good luck vibes!!

Yeah I'm the same, I'm probably still in probation myself, I might have a day accrued but they'll use that for when we close for coronation bank holiday. I had wondered what excuse to use if I get any interview, if I said doctors or something probably be the type of place require proof or something.

I don't know about you but my indeed searching was rather unsuccessful this time around, not much really going compared to when I was looking a few weeks back before this job, actually had two jobs secured and picked the wrong option it seems. Of course I contacted the other company this morning and they said the position is now filled.

I'm sure we will both get sorted it's just the sticking this out in the mean time, well I may not have that choice lol.

Oh, We are so similar in so many ways. Yes, after I got redundancy, I secured two jobs at almost same time. I picked this one because of short commute distance for just 10 minutes driving from home & career progressing.

I did contact another company yesterday as well, the job has been filled unfortunately..

I just applied two jobs this morning from indeed, see how it goes..

The thing is this new job like a prison, I don't know whether I can answer call freely like my previous job. Go anywhere need get authorisation, even lunch break.

Exactly the reason I picked this job too, the short commute really attracted me and it's the only thing I actually like about it.

I'm also the same I don't think I can answer my phone either, thankfully my watch shows messages and calls coming through but I don't see anyone with a phone out, I darent pull it out as I know it won't go down well.

If you are the newest staff member, it is ludicrous after a month to put the blame on you for something like this. At this stage you are still learning about the job and the organisation.

'' but I have seen 2 people get sacked in this company in the 1 month I've been here.''

I think that tells you all you need to know...just another toxic work environment. You need to look for something else.
