Hi I have been signed off sick for two weeks due to have my appendix removed
I'm halfway through and my attempts to arrange a back to work meeting so I can return are being ignored. The communication I have had from employer was an acknowledgment of the sick note and then a statement saying a return to work meeting must be held.
Due to return on 8/05/23. With bank holiday Monday coming up there are then only four days remaining to get this completed.
I'm being met with radio silence- no one is returning my emails.

I'm really worried now- I had no choice in having the op (was emergency op) but without my job we wouldn't survive.
Been there just shy of two years.
Any advice please?

Phone someone? Perhaps your emails are sitting in an unmonitored mailbox or have been blocked by the servers. Don't rely on that.

RTW interviews are commonly done once you've returned to work, they don't have to be done in advance.

Why are you so worried? Are they not just expecting you to rock up on your date back?

STLLAP08 · 28/04/2023 13:18

Due to the nature of my work RTW has to be done before I begin back.
I'm worried about the no communication

You need to call them

Of course your employer has not ghosted you, don’t be so dramatic. Plenty of time before your return to work date.

I emailed the employer 6 weeks into being ignored (as much as Mumsnet said it doesn’t go on) it does weekly welfare meetings never happened to the point they were extremely happy I got a job first as it meant they could avoid a conversation about PIP. They wrote a reference in less than a week. I have had spinal surgery but experienced most thick’ohs want to treat it as appendix out.

I am getting out (again not something understood by Mumsnet) who want me to support 1 call in six as a beacon of strength! In fact I would have probably been better telling the employer on sick I resign.----
