I am currently looking for work and found a job I liked the look of with local government (not UK).
In the advert it said to contact X for an informal chat before applying if you wanted do. I duly did this, met with X and talked the through the role.
I then went home, applied for the job and received a standard email to say that my application had been received and that I would be contacted shortly after the closing date, 17th April, to be told whether or not I would be invited for an interview. To date, I have not heard anything. I know from having applied for jobs in the past that you are informed if you have not met the criteria for an interview.
It is less than 2 weeks since the closing date, I don’t want to seem pushy but also don’t want to come across as miffed that I’ve not heard anything yet. I have checked my Junk inbox too so I know that unless my email is playing sully buggers, I haven’t received anything.
How can I word the email to say that the above without cutting off my nose to spite my face, as it were?
