Maternity Leave

I’m covering maternity leave in a school (support role). The person I’m covering for is due back in September, does anyone know if they want to request reasonable changes to their role/hours when they would need to request this by? 🙏🏻

Employers have to respond to a statutory flexible working request within 3 months. There isn't a deadline as such for when the employee should request, but if the employee was hoping for a response by a set time then logic dictates they would need to apply at least 3 months beforehand.

Usual caveats apply that it's only a right to request flexible working - doesn't mean it will be granted.

My guess would be after this holiday or May half term at the latest. Given school will be closed for their last month of leave.
