Skills test, have I blown it?

I just had to complete a timed test for a job I really want and know I can do.

There was some maths, which I think went ok, some deduction and reasoning - which I've scored really high on in the past - that I found hard, and some pattern recognition which I found almost impossible.

I've done well in past roles and been promoted a lot - Im a good performer, I've always pleased my employers and had great feedback, but feel this went badly.

Will a shitty test result scupper the whole thing? How much do recruiters that rely on these tests use them to make a decisison? Im gutted, and worried.

Hi OP. Was this for a CS role. I ask as I had one when applying for the same role as I had been doing for 15 years but on an external trawl as I wanted to move location about 18 months ago. It was a very hard test with no pass or fail but I received a report basically telling me I had not scored highly in the areas they required to go any further? Go figure!!!!! So you may have to wait until you hear back. Don’t give up yet. You may have done better than you think.
