Bank Holiday Entitlement

My daughter works for a registered childminder. She works Tuesday to Thursday, and obviously doesn't work on any Bank Holiday Monday or any Good Friday.

Should she be entitled to any additional time off, in lieu of bank holidays, or is it just "tough luck, you don't work those days anyway, so you're already getting the days off". Is there a statutory entitlement to bank holidays?

When my children were young, I worked a job share where I worked Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and my colleague worked Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Our employer said that as I worked three fifths of a week, I was entitled to three-fifths of the bank holidays and I was able to take extra time off to compensate. My colleague had to "pay back" extra days. This was back in the late 80s/early 90s and I don't know if our employer was just being fair (given that they had essentially taken my job whilst I was on maternity leave and turned it into two part time roles, giving my colleague first pick of the days!)
