I've been in my current job just 6 months, but for reasons I won't go into in detail (internal politics/management style), it's not really working out for me.
I'm keen to move on despite knowing the quick move won't look great on my CV, however this experience has scared me and I'm keen not to jump into a similar situation (I'd been in my previous organisation for 10 years so not much recent experience of researching organisations!).
I saw one role advertised and fortunately knew someone who had previously worked there. Got in touch and they were able to offer valuable insight into the organisation and management which meant I knew it wouldn't be the right place for me.
I've seen another role and have found the profile of the previous post holder on LinkedIn. They were in post just over a year and left in Jan. They could have a good reason for moving on relatively quickly, however it raises mini alarm bells for me.
Would it be weird/totally unprofessional to get in touch with this person via LinkedIn and ask for insight into the organisation/ role etc???
