I obviously mean Pat from
The RCN

Rejecting.

The one-off bit for this year will be subject to tax and NI, but won't count towards pension or ongoing pay awards - so we'll be even further behind inflation for every subsequent year (and in pension accrual). And 5% next year is a drop in the bucket - no meaningful progress to catching up.

Union recommendation means nothing when they had to agree such restrictive terms going into the negotiations.

I'm a medic but if I were a nurse it would take about half a second to reject this derisory offer. You do know that the RCN has a conservative councillor working for them? They have rolled over in a very pathetic way.

Not nursing but NHS; have changed union due to Unison where I currently work being utterly rubbish (they were great at my last place) but would reject. My partner is a registered nurse and we are both honestly wondering what on earth has gone on behind the scenes or under the table to persuade the RCN and Unison to tell us all to be good little girls and boys and obediently roll over like this.

I'll never forgive unison either for having effectively stopped annual increment rises for new, newly promoted, or returning NHS staff and again I really do wonder what, er, encouragements were offered to those in charge...of course 15 plus years in the NHS could have damaged my critical thinking ability but somehow I don't think so.... there is something very wrong with this picture and has been since 2010...

@mycoffeecup completely agree ... iv been qualified 24 years and i sacked both Unison and RCN . People are deluded if they think RCN works in their favour.

@Feuillemille23 couldn't have put it better myself.
