At the moment we live just little outside London and working in school. My children are growing up in becoming more independent. I'm thinking to apply for a job in London it's a school in London because I want to have more access to parks to things to do

When my kids on half term they can access variety of things in London

I think it to apply for job in London in the school would be pros cones?

We would need to move closer and probably a house or a flat to afford

The biggest downside is the cost of housing and transport anywhere in London. As you say, there is loads to do - parks, museums etc. You need to go on Rightmove and investigate the cost of housing in the area you would be looking at. You also need to consider the catchment area for the school you are applying to and how it would differ from where you are now.

How far do you live outside now! Is commuting possible? Surely there are green spaces near there?

Would it pay enough to support the rent and lifestyle you hope for?

What role do you currently have/looking for?

I assume that English is not your 1st language? which languages do you speak?

pasok1000 · 02/04/2023 06:48

Why is it relevant for my question

Why is it relevant for my question

It is just a little hard to read and we may be missing something. I don’t really understand why you want a job in London for the parks, you won’t be going to parks whilst you are at work and surely there are parks everywhere?

What job do you currently do in school? The pay in schools is very varied depending on your role. Are you buying or renting? Which part of London are you looking at?

Why is it relevant for my question

because it may help with the type of job you can get
some languages are in demand

It depends where you currently live. If just outside London is it not just as easy to stay where you are and commute in? Depending which part of London you got a job in there could be a long commute to where you could afford to live unless money no object. As an example my commute across London takes an absolute minimum of 1.5 hours on public transport, many people at work who live well outside London have similar or shorter commute.
