17 year old retail interview advice

DD 17 has her first retail interview for a fairly smart young clothes brand. What type of questions might they ask? What should she wear? Is there anything she should take with her?

I would imagine, general things like tell us about yourself. Then perhaps situation questions that are customer service related- what would you do if faced with an angry customer that kind of thing? Why do you want to work at this company? Perhaps something like describe a time when you solved a problem, went above and beyond etc. If you google the store and interview questions you might also get some insight.

I’d say just dress anyway nice, no jeans or runners if possible. Just be polite, please and thank yous, tell them she likes the place etc! Best of luck to her!

Have a look on glassdoor and do a search of the company on there. Often it’ll let you know about the interview process.

Dress one step up from the interviewers, not overtly their brand but reflecting that style. Focus on customer service, meeting and exceeding expectations, security, training.
