Return to work interview

I’ve been off work for 9 weeks and returned 2 weeks ago. I thought I would need some sort of return to work to establish any help/changes but I’ve had nothing from management.

Not all but part of my issue was workload due to covering 2 other long term sick and no help given, I have been telling my manager for months that it’s a real struggle but nothing has been done and now I’m back to double what I had as no one is able to do my job whilst off.

Is this the correct procedure? Have I a right to instigate the return to work interview?

Have you spoken to HR / your line manager?

Yes, you should have a return to work interview where it should be discussed whether any adjustments are needed to facilitate your return to work, whether you are on any new medication and whether any follow up meetings are needed to support you. As a minimum!

Have you spoken to HR / your line manager?

He initially mentioned it the week before I returned, then in passing said once I’m settled in, whenever that is and now he’s in Annual Leave.

I feel a bit cheated as the work situation is unmanageable as I’ve been saying since last year and now it’s worse due to me being off sick.

I am at the point of wanting to leave but it’s an ideal job if it was just managed correctly.

I will ask on his return for a return to work, I just don’t want it to seem like I’m looking for trouble.
