Verbal offer

Feeling a bit low.

Received a verbal offer after a 3rd interview on Wednesday.

Job a very good fit for my skills, was clear front runner according to recruiting manager. Job exciting to me, really liked the people I met ( boss, his boss, other colleague and even the person who would be a direct report).

Was told written offer would follow by end of week when big main director boss was there to sign off.

Friday came - nothing. Bit the bullet and sent enquiry email at 5pm. Immediate response back 'sorry Director was off - we hadn't realised - will call on Monday when he's back'.
Yesterday ( Monday) - guess what? Silence. I didn't chase again as feel it makes me look needy.

Not sure whether to chase again if no news in next few days or just to move on.

They didn't seem like flaky people and had invested a lot of time in the hiring process - but I feel very fed up of being 'on hold'.

Doesn't help that super unhappy in current place ( been there 5 years and we are post merger )

Have you heard anything yet?

I have had four rounds of interviews and met with the entire team, including the head of the department (VP level). After a verbal offer and two rounds of compensation negotiations I got ghosted. I followed up with the head of talent acquisition as well as the hiring manager but I never got a response. Apparently this is happening a lot lately? Am I being unreasonable thinking that this behaviour is not professional?

Totally unprofessional!
Sorry to hear this. Keep going @DrBridgerton

That's awful @DrBridgerton and incredibly unprofessional not to mention unethical.

Mine turned out ok in the end - they were sketchy as hell, turned out they wanted a start date that was later than my notice period - so when they were eventually honest about that and we talked it through I agreed that I would delay handing in my notice to my current employer.

All paperwork and contracts are now signed, I will hand my notice in in a fortnight and then they can seek references. Start date is July 3rd. Have been incredibly unhappy at current place so this is a huge relief to be honest
