How long for enhanced DBS check

I am in the running for a new role. If i get it, it will require and enhanced DBS check. If i get it, it would suit me not ti start until the autumn. How long does and enhanced DBS check take?

Varies but can be less than a week ime.

I've been waiting 6 weeks for mine and still nothing.

In previous jobs it's taken about 4/5 weeks.

Both mine and DHs took less than a week recently. Despite having Iived abroad (extra check)

Mine was less than a week (last month)

I'm waiting for one at the moment, 3.5 weeks so far.

I got one in January and it only took 3 days!

Mine just came back in 2.5 weeks

There is a way of accelerating if they need to as I was waiting on one for a school job and they were chilled but when they really needed me to start the manager pulled some strings and got it done straight away, possibly ££ premium but was a big company!

We complete enhanced DBS for our employees. It is really random, can be 2 days or can be months. I think they're allowed to take up to 60/90 days (cant remember which) before you can complain about the delay.

It tends to take longer though if the pending has lived at lots of addresses.

Mine seem to take ages, but I have been divorced three times and have moved and lived abroad never more than a month tho. My partners was three days.

Mine just took 2 months so I've joined the dbs update service!!!

I applied for one on the 14 March, received an email to say it was completed on the 21st and I received my certificate through the post yesterday.

Mine is nearly 4 weeks now, I’ve lived at the same address for 20 years, never changed my name, it should be straightforward. Luckily I don’t need it for a few more weeks yet.

Friend put one in before Christmas (so may not have arrived until after) and it only got back last week. I think the answer is "how long is a piece of string" - there seems to be no rhyme nor reason to it.
