Hearing from a job

I recently applied for a band 2 position at the NHS that I really want via the trac system. It's been a week since the application deadline and I still haven't heard whether the application was successful or not. I am not sure as to what to do, whether to call the hiring manager and ask for an update or just wait. I've been checking my emails every 2 minutes lol. If anyone has used trac, do you know whether it tells you if an application is unsuccessful? Or how long it takes to hear back from an NHS job. Thank you very much!

A week is no time at all! It takes time to review job applications. Be patient.

Thank you! I just get nervous, have been having a tough time landing a job for a while now lol. I did ask for a tour of the facilities which they kindly let me have. I hope that shows them that I really am passionate and interested for the position

Yea you just need to wait a few weeks. It depend how busy the department is currently. They won't look at the applications the same day it closes. Or even the same week most of the time. Did they specify an interview date on the job advert? You may not hear back until a few days before. Or not until after the interviews if unsuccessful sometimes. Depends how efficient the recruitment department is at that trust.

The advert didn't specify an interview period it mostly talked about the person spec and job details. I did ask the manager on how they process applications and they said that they do the shortlisting during their own schedule which I wasnt sure if that meant when they have the time or they book themselves a specific time slot or something like that
