Career change to HR from nursing?

I’m a mental health nurse and I’ve made the decision to leave nursing. I think HR sounds like a really interesting career but it’s one of those jobs where I’m really not sure what a normal day entails (I have googled) and nor am I sure I’m the right person for it?
I’m pretty quiet and not always so confident of myself at first which I realise probably aren’t ideal traits (although I do speak up when need be and am confident after a while!). Not sure if that makes sense.

I suppose my nursing has given me that people managing aspect, leadership, communication, time management and problem solving.

Does anyone have any words of wisdom to share? Thank you!

I should have also added that I am really interested in psychology/sociology, not sure if that helps?

I'm ex-HR and still do a related job (I'm nhs too). There's no standard day to day as there are so many different types of role. Some examples might be recruitment, where most of your time is spent organising job ads and supporting managers the process. L&D might involve commissioning training, maybe leading some training, doing a lot of data analysis and planning. HR Generalist roles might involve supporting a directorare/department with a range of issues, advising on performance matters, dealing with disciplinary/ grievances etc or could also involve supporting through restructures etc.

Personally I found HR a bit unexciting, but I worked public sector roles, some of my friends in the private sector have a bit more freedom (and budget) so it's less about disciplinaries and restructures and more about proactive organisational development (for example)

What is it about HR that appeals to you?
