What would you do?

I put in a request to my team leader to reduce my hours from 5 to 4 days back in December. I have not yet had a response, other than when I reminded my team leader in Jan/Feb they said they would let me know when they've discussed with our manager. 3 months now, and assuming it's a "no"....is it normal for these requests to be left for so long? It's a physically and mentally demanding job, which is part of the reason behind the request. Really feel that, although I enjoy the role, I should look for something else. What would you do? Thanks.

That a ridiculous length of time, ask again, be polite but persistent.

I would chase up the request - have they followed their own policies & timescales?

But also, yes I would start to look for something else.

I completed a form for a request like this and it was signed and countersigned within a couple of working days. Can you escalate the request to someone else? HR?

Check the fox working policy, ours has a timetable in it.

Did you put in an official flexible working request? I’m sure they have a three month time limit, can be longer though on agreement with the employee?
