Job Adverts

I've only ever worked in the NHS, where job adverts tend to give detailed job description, expected hours, person spec, and salary details upfront before you apply. I'm finding the job adverts in the private sector very confusing, and almost cryptic. Trying to work out what the job actually entails is difficult! Is it expected that you contact the recruitment team to have a chat and ask lots of questions before you apply? Or do most people just send off applications and worry about the details later? I just don't want to waste everyone's time by submitting an application for something that I don't actually want when I find out the details.

In my industry most adverts don’t even have a phone number so you can’t speak to the recruiter in advance. Ideally you recognise the job title and understand what it entails, but I agree it’s sometimes cryptic, e.g. Project Manager but no idea if it’s IT, construction, automotive etc, or no location. In this case all you can do is send your CV and ask all the questions if/when the recruiter calls you to arrange an interview and hope for the best.
