Work
Too soon to chase?

I had my final interview for a role 6 days ago (Friday) and was told they had one other person to interview the following Tuesday so I would likely hear from them on Wednesday.
I’ve heard nothing and the role has been removed from the website.
I’ve drafted an email saying I understand the position has been filled and I would be grateful to hear any feedback but I’m really hopeful that I’m still in with a chance, it’s not likely though is it?

No don’t give up!
‘Wednesday’ means ‘hopefully Wednesday, if no one is off sick, we can catch the CEO to sign off, and no big work crops up first’.
By all means send a friendly chase (though Id give it until Monday), but do it as a friendly enquiry not an assumption of doom.

I really hope so - I got really positive feedback after both interviews and they made sure to phone me late on the Friday to say they didn’t want me waiting over the weekend so wanted to tell me when I was likely to hear so I’m surprised there’s been no update at all so I’m assuming the worst.
Plus when I’ve recruited in the past I’ve never removed the post from the website until a candidate has confirmed they have accepted the role.
I will try and hold off a bit longer but the not knowing is driving me mad!

Do not send this message. It'll tell them everything they need to know about your own insecurities, not to mention it just isn't true if you haven't heard anything Wednesday was only yesterday. Delays are common when recruiting. Take a deep breath and wait it out.

They have probably offered to someone else and are waiting for the applicant to accept. Once they know that person is taking the job then they'll let everyone else know. Or offer it to the second best if the candidate decides that they don't want the job after all.

I did wonder that too 😞

I wouldn't send that message but you could politely ask if they have an update yet as you were told you'd have an outcome on Wednesday?
I'm a recruiter here and they could be offering to someone else but these processes can be delayed for various reasons so I wouldn't think the worst yet.
