Will I be made redundant?

I'm on an internal secondment and have recently found out I'm pregnant. I will be going off on maternity leave before the end of my secondment.

Will I be made redundant as I'll be out of my substantive role for over the agreed 12 month period? I was warned that if the secondment was extended, my manager would be able to backfill my position however, is this the same with maternity leave?

No of course not. You will be assumed to have returned to your substantive role at the end of the secondment, but coincidentally you happen to be going on maternity leave. You have not extended your secondment.

Thank you. That's really reassuring.
