To call in sick with bad pregnancy sciatica/back pain if I work remotely?

I’m in my third trimester and since yesterday I’ve had bad back pain and sciatica which kept me up at night. I’m thinking of calling my GP or MW if I’m still in pain on Monday and don’t see myself being able to sit at my desk all day.

AIBU to call in sick if I WFH? I’ve never called in sick and feel a bit anxious about it since I WFH but the pain is too much.

Thanks!

How pg are you now? Your employer can start your ml early if over 36 weeks.

Yes, you can phone in sick as sitting at a desk all day will aggravate it.

If you're not able to work, then you're not able to work. If they're decent employers then they'll understand. Given it's pregnancy related, it shouldn't count in your sickness absence record.
