Pregnancy / Feeling Anxious About Job

Hi All,

Looking for some words of comfort / advice. I'm feeling really anxious as I'm 6 months into a new job and found out I'm pregnant yesterday (which I'm really happy about) - very early days, likely to be around the 4 week mark. The fact that I'm going to have to tell work about this is making me feel physically sick and anxious. I work for a small business (6 employees) we're all pretty close, I'm the only female in the office which doesn't help much and I'm worried about the reaction I'm going to get.

Do you think 5/6 months is too early to get pregnant into a new role? How do I face the situation when the time comes? Any similar stories / thoughts would be appreciated.

I had just started a secondment to a big client when I discovered I was pregnant. I was working on a complex and time sensitive project so wouldn’t be easy to just swap me for another person. I was really worried my firm and the client would be mad. Everyone was really happy for me. It will be fine!

I found out I was pregnant 2 days before starting a new job, had to tell them when I had only been there 7 weeks in due to risk. They were absolutely fine, really happy. Obviously it depends on your work/ boss but it's not too early
