Not sure I can continue to do this…

I’m not sure I can continue in the job role I’m currently doing (Admin/office).

There’s more work than I can deal with, no-one seems to care, goodness knows I’ve tried talking with management. I find the 1;1s a waste of time, again no-one really listens. They heap more and more work onto us and so I’m considering leaving and trying out at temp work.

Has anyone done this? How did it work out for you? I’ve not temped in years, no idea how it even works now?

Anyone tempted?
Not worked as an office temp for years so unsure of how it all works nowadays?

Ah really sorry to hear this.Admin seems to be a bit of a dumping ground a lot of the time and can empathise with your concerns falling on deaf ears. Do you work in a large organisation? If so it may be worth a sideway step, perhaps? I personally haven't done Agency work for many years but when I did it led to long term work. I think nowadays they do tests to see where your skills lie in terms of IT but I may be wrong? I think if you're unhappy and fighting a losing battle then it's worth moving on or at least trying to find something else whilst you're still working.

If there is more work than you can get done they are not going to want to lose you. If management do not care then you should not either. Do your best each day and prioritise the important jobs but when your finish time comes round sign off and finish.

If you struggle to change your mindset to match management then you might be best leaving.
