I've just recently been made redundant and got may CV together, however I don't seem to be getting acknowledged when apply on recruiters websites for jobs.
I've sent my CV off to the writers on a free feedback scheme and they're saying I'm not hitting all the key words etc that would get me noticed as it's all to do with this - a computer generally "reads" the 100s of CVs that come in to the application first!
Is it worthwhile have my CV professionally written up? I feel I have already made the changes to be noticed better but not getting anywhere. I am applying for managerial roles

It’s good to get some advice from them but I generally know them to be ‘over-critical’ because they are trying to sell their services to you. In my honest opinion, I’d take the feedback but I wouldn’t pay for someone to write my CV. You can get free templates online to make it look professional.

I am a Recruitment for the civil service and read about 50 CVs a day. The first thing is to make sure you personalise your CV for each job you are applying for. Read the job advert or person specification carefully and make sure you highlight in the first page of your CV how how you have the skills the job requires. Make sure your CV is not too long - try and keep it to 2 pages and is easy to read. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to have to search through 8 pages of a CV to see if someone is a fit. The key words advice is a good one as I often use a word search on CVs if I am in a hurry. Make sure your CV is saved as your name and also has your location on it.
