Hi,

so I was offered a band 4 job role 2/3 weeks ago. I’m a band 3 but this is for a new trust. So it’s the normal lengthy checks.. anyway one of the requirements was business admin nvq or relevant experience (which I have) but I also have nvq business admin nvq but no certificates as I took a break in learning for mat leave and when I came back the training provider had ceased trading. However I have a letter or proof from the 2nd provider to state I did the apprenticeship but did not do final assessment.
anyway they asked for the letter which I sent and they said they will get back to me once looked into it but she had a day of training. (It’s been 2 days) so I emailed to say if we had an update and now her out of office is on til Monday… the woman I will be working for also out of office til Monday.

is this certificate really going to be this much of an issue and I cannot help but feel I have done everything as quick as I can I’ve sent any documents they want within the same day but they are happy to just leave me waiting… I know nhs can be lengthy but they haven’t given me any reassurance knowing I really want this job. I feel very deflated and stressed!!

eugh

I don’t think the certificate will be a problem. NHS always ask for NVQ etc in adverts for admin roles, but always state or relevant experience, as they know not many candidates will have the NVQ. If they were being a stickler for it, they wouldn’t have invited you to interview or offered you the job, so try not to worry about it. NHS HR are terribly slow at getting things moving.

I changed jobs in the same Trust and it still took over 3 months.

Two days is nothing, I know it’s easy for me to say but try not to worry. In my experience of NHS HR departments they don’t seem to rush! (No offence to anyone in NHS HR!)

I had to do a Level 3 course for my Band 3 promotion which took me 2 years, yet the same job came up very recently and my friend who has not got the ‘correct’ qualifications got the post due to relevant experience.

I hope you get the confirmation soon! Try and enjoy your weekend - this is out of your control now so try and relax.

@snowflakeinastorm @MissJam thank you both for replying. It isn’t Hr it’s the actual managers I’m working for(well hopefully) they asked to send letter to show I did the apprenticeship but then asked if I have any certificates for any modules. Which I don’t and they said they will get back to me.. so I chased for update but now out of office is on. I’m a huge over thinker 😂 I think worst case scenario which is my job offer revoked… over a certificate !!! Depends how picky they are I guess 😆

I just need to try relax!
