Why does this annoy me so much??

A few years ago there was a restructure and F came into my team as a direct report.

However F had been there longer than me and had previously been in the SLT. She isn't paid as a SLT and has no direct reports. However she continues to attend the SLT meetings alongside me and I noticed today she was also added to the SLT ms team.

Other SLT members treat her as an equal. I just find it awkward and annoying that she's treated as "senior" when she's not. I do her appraisal etc. I know if it changed it people would think I was being petty.

I understand that it can be annoying when someone acts above their role but honestly, I wouldn’t let it get to me that much.
You know ultimately you are her manager, she’s not paid an SLT wage and as long as she’s not getting in the way of you doing your job and respects your authority then I don’t think it’s something worth spending your energy thinking about.

She doesn't really respect me. She never takes my advice. She's not a team player.

But you're right I need to not let it annoy me.

Maybe she reads that you don't respect her or see the value she brings and that's why she acts how she does.

No I'd done think so. She has zero insight.
