Work/pregnancy help

Hello, I am hoping someone can help me. I posted this in pregnancy yesterday and had no responses...

My immediate manager is aware I'm pregnant, I'm currently 10 weeks and 2 days but I'm now suffering terribly with nausea, I've been off this week and my immediate manager has been on A/L so I've had to report to my managers manager who isn't aware and I'm not yet comfortable telling her (we have been asking for 1.5years for a pay rise as we are grossly underpaid) I have a sick line for this week. I see no reason my managers manager needs to see the sick line as both myself and my manager return next week and I can technically self cert anyway. Surely this can be kept between my manager and our HR department?

I think your manager's msnager will have the right to see your sick note even if you would rather they didn't. Does your sick note say pregnancy related nausea.

It does say pregnancy related nausea. Pregnancy related sickness gets recorded differently I believe. I just fear we will end up not getting our payrises again which is hugely frustrating as with the cost of living they are desperately needed!

I don't see how one person being pregnant will affect whether everyone will get a pay rise or not. If everyone gets a rise then you should too otherwise its discrimination.

Because they aren't agreed yet we have just been asking and it's been in discussion. I don't want any further reason for delays on the decision is what I'm getting at.
