Just wanted views on this. If you had a fairly senior manager who repeatedly left a few people out of what is obviously a work get together, is there anything you can do officially? It has become quite embarrassing.

I just don’t think you need to address someone else potential battle
arranging a social do after work with colleagues via work email and excluding colleagues that’s ropy. The exclusion of some is really prominent if undertaken on email and hard to argue it’s not exclusion.

if it’s friends who work together getting together after work then as mates they need to arrange independently of work . As friends I’d expect they have each other details

Yes, it's off I,'d say. I'm hoping they'll get together to complain.

is it possible that the 4 excluded people have their own reasons or not attending, possibly known to the manager, and would prefer not to be invited
personally I don't like this sort of work based socialising and go very infrequently. If I had a legitimate excuse to never go I'd invoke it.
eg- caring responsibility, alcoholic, medically restricted diet, long commute, etc
