Public Procurement - Out of My Depth

I used to undertake Public Procurement 3 years ago running OJEU and non OJEU tenders, mainly Restricted Procedure.

I was made redundant and took a PA job for 3 years and now returned to procurement in a new company. I have only been there a few days and not actually started any tendering, but I'm looking through the others' folders, feel totally out of my depth. They are doing CallOffs, Mini Competitions, full OJEUs, Direct Wards, Exemptions, Frameworks etc all for a consortium. I feel I've taken on a job too big and feel paralysed with fear. Help!

@tadpole73 its your first week and the industry sector has moved on in the last 3 years. The skills are the same it’s the processes that have changed.

Note pad (electronic or hard copy) to the ready, each term that is new to you write down and, if appropriate, ask what it means. When it’s familiar just do a confirmation question e.g. Calloffs just checking we still do abc.

Intranet (not internet) search for processes/procedures and read them. See if there is any training for people new to procurement.
