4 colleagues in my team left the organisation within 7 weeks - mainly due to management bullying and work overload. The management decided to do a restructure. 2 members of the management involved in the restructure decided to leave. It is very stressful as I have had to train 3 new members of staff which some have little experience of the sector and none of the new members of staff know the systems or where anything. I have also had to take on work another ex colleague used to do as no-one else knows how to do it. We have also had 1 job vacancy since November so having to share that work among the team. Other people have try to palm off their work to me so they can sit on their mobile phones but I have ignored that one.
My supervisor has now got one of the management jobs in the restructure. They want me to apply for their old post but I have seen how burnt out they have been at times. They said they will see if they can transfer parts of their old job to another team. I would not want to apply for the job then find out the over workload would not be taken off me. Other colleagues have a strong interest in this new role. One person has done the role outside of the organisation whereas I have covered this role in the organisation when the supervisor has been on annual leave so have more knowledge internally.
Another position created was perfect for me but only part time hours. My supervisor wanted me for that job too but I said I can't reduce my hours by half. The restructure has been poorly thought of and people's tasks have not been taken into consideration and forgotten about.
25% of the workforce of 120 people have left in the last year due to no management support, work overload and low morale. I don't know if I want to stick around to keep showing new people everything if I can't progress. I feel very tired now
