I am newly promoted to a management role managing team of about 17 staff.
I work alongside 7 other Managers and we all work together as management team.
One of the other Managets comes across in meetings as bossy and aggressive and at the moment appears to have it in for me and my team.
She also has a couple of hangers on from the other managers who are weak and she dominates them. They appear to suck up to her. I think they arecafraid of her.
She is extremely knowledgeable in our field and the most experienced and my Manager, who acknowledges her aggression knows this so allows it to slide.
Today she was especially agggressive and critical. I asked another Manager how they felt the meeting went and she said the aggressive manager was very out of order and she used to treat her like it and she had to shut her down by having a go back.
So far I haven't really stood up for myself as I'm scared ill lose it and be aggressive rather than assertive.
I wonder if she sees me as being weak as I haven't tackled her about it.
