Cash in hand jobs

suchamessughh · 08/02/2023 00:58

Anyone know of any cash in hand jobs? Or anything like dog walking? I'm currently trying to find a job to earn some extra cash but something that is flexible and where i won't have to report i'm working. Any recommendations? Comment if you have done something similar or have any contacts to something similar. Anything is helpful.

Put your bullet-proof jacket in as you are likely to receive loads of posts about tax avoidance.
I am fortunate to have a good steady income from a secure job so I certainly don't begrudge anyone who isn't in the same privileged position from trying to make quick in-the-hand cash.
And god knows, there's plenty of tax avoidance/evasion occurring in top levels of governance and employment, home ownership, ponzi schemes etc etc etc.
All the best suchamessughh.

What area are you in OP?

You could find out what it was that that lad Zahawi was doing and get a bit of that. Doesn't seem that he was paying tax and he got loads of money by the sounds of it. More than dog walking anyway.

Cleaning is often done cash-in-hand, baby sitting is too. Some sex work, a lot of building and painting/decorating (although that's skilled), window cleaning, some bars and restaurants will employ casual staff off the books for cash.

Mucking out at horse riding yards. My teenage daughter does it and gets cash. Probably all yard jobs are cash in hand, except instructor jobs.

Your teenage daughter probably isn't planning to working illegally and without declaring income that she should be declaring.

And I am not sure how it is rational to argue that other people commiting fraud makes it ok for the OP to commit fraud.

Dog walkers require insurance, unless you are intending to take personal legal responsibility for what someone elses dog does to another dog or a person. I wouldn't let someone with no skills, experience, or insurance anywhere near my dog.

Cleaning? A family nearby has a lady for 10 hrs a day, 15 an hour, all week. This is cash in hand. OK this is a mad situation but got me thinking the cleaner is doing amazingly well here!

I wouldn't allow anyone who planned to work illegally and without adequate insurance anywhere near my dog or anything else. Not only would you be asking me to collude in illegal activity, but you would be putting me at risk if something went wrong and I got sued for it.

Cash in hand is not the same thing as tax avoidance - paying someone cash is not illegal, it is the failing to declare income. And any business willing to employ people off the books is very likely to be doing a lot more stuff that puts people at risk.

I can't tell you how much I wish I could afford a cleaner every day.

foxiecookies · 21/12/2023 08:13

Gardening, nothing sophisticated like growing and planting - just clearing/ mowing lawns. Advertise yourself/ look for jobs in your local area on Facebook marketplace.
I pay my gardener £40 for a 30-min job.

@MustardChair Hehehe! Yes, the thing is the 'cleaner' doesnt even do the bathrooms (someone else does that) and the house was always tidy anyway and not because of the cleaner, just because they dont have kids messing it all up. But yes, what a luxury...
