Seconded Post Maternity Leave

Does anyone know the implications of taking maternity leave on a fixed term seconded post? Do you receive mat leave pay in line with the seconded post pay and are there any other implications? If the post was still active when you returned, would you return to the seconded post or your original post?
Many thanks

Maternity pay is calculated on actual earnings during qualifying weeks, so it depends what job you worked at that time. Whether you are entitled to return to secondment depends on how long you take off and whether it is still open.

Thanks for explaining this so clearly, much appreciated

Your statutory maternity pay is based on actual earnings, but different rules may apply to any addition top up your company pays.
