Less money but more interesting job ?

I have a pretty boring job but for the hours and area it's not bad pay . Im literally left to my own devices and have no one to answer to, no prospects though. Occasionally I look for another job but never really find anything to match the hours and the pay. However I had an interview on Friday and pretty sure I'm going to get offered the job ( friend works there and they have as good as told her and they have just called me but I couldn't answer ) . Now this job pays less as it's less per hour and 4 hours less a week meaning £200 less a month . But there are extra shifts every week to pick up meaning I could match my wage now and even earn more by doing more shifts . It's a job where I would be learning new skills that could lead to other positions in the future where I am now I will never go anywhere . What would you do ? Stay put and be bored or more hours for the same money ?

Ooh how did it go @mycatsanutter what did they say? X

@Pssspsss I was an absolute bag of nerves my stomach was churning which is just not like me I'm normally quite a laid back confident person . Anyway I went in their office said I needed to have a word and there was no easy way to say it but I was leaving . They just stared at me then I said I didn't want to look back in 5/10 years and regret not having a go at something different and that I wanted a challenge and I really didn't want to work in insurance anymore . The main boss (who I get on v well with and interact with a lot ) just stared and stared at me and didn't speak at all I then filled the gap by telling him what date I was leaving . The other asked where I was going then there was even more of an awkward silence which I filled by saying ' so there you go I will put it in writing to make it official ' and I walked out . It all felt so weird , still does really !

Awww you’ve done the hard bit now. You’ve got a new job. You’ve let the old one know so now it’s onwards and upwards.
