I'm currently off work because of stomach problems been told to stay off for 48hours. I work as a hca on a ward in the hospital my question is will I get paid for today and tomorrow or?

You'll have to check the policy but yes I'd have thought so. How long have you worked there for? Are you past your probation period (if you have one?)

In my organisation if you are still on probation you are only entitled to a handful of sick days - but you'd be covered for this as long as you hadn't taken loads of sick days already.

After probation there is loads of support in place for sickness absence.

We don't have a probation period and all I can find in the policy is sick pay for long term. I started in December this is the first time I've been ill so I'm stressing about being paid

It will depend on the company most say you dont get paid for the 1st 3 days of being off sick. My old company never paid for sick days.

If its SSP you don't get paid for the 1st 3 days.
If its contractual sick pay then you may get paid sick leave from the start

Its nhs, it says on the policy that it is contractual/occupational pay
